Q1: We like the zen three tier solar step fountain but were wondering two things: does it store energy in a battery so that it can also run at night and does it have an on/off switch?

A: This solar fountain does not store energy. It requires the direct sunlight to operate the pump. There is no on/off switch for the fountain.

Q2: How far can the solar panel be from the fountain?

A: The solar panel is located on the very top of the fountain so it will need to be placed in direct sunlight to operate.

Q3: If there's NO direct sunlight (shadow) does it still work? What is the total height of the fountain? Thank you, Ted

A: If there is no direct sunlight the fountain will not work. The overall height is 9 inches.

Q4: Does the pump automatically shut off if the fountain runs dry?

A: There is not an automatic shut off on the fountain if the water runs dry.

Q5: Can Smart Solar fountains be plugged in to house current?

A: At this time there is not an AC adapter.

Q6: How much does it weigh? When the water evaporates (it'll be on my roof) will the pump keep pumping and burn out?

A: This weighs 64 lbs and if the fountain runs dry it will burn out the pump.

Q7: Can the water volume be adjusted? (Specifically to increase water sound.)

A: Yes, there is a flow adjustment on the pump.

Q8: what s the 3 tier fountain actually made of. Does it store enough solar power to work at night? Can I use water plants in all three tiers?

A: This is made from a slate material. These solar fountains do not store energy. We do not suggest plants as they could clog the filter for the pump.

Q9: Is the total height from bottom to top tier is 9 inches?

A: The total height of 9 inches includes the fountain sprayer.

Q10: what is the mesh looking stuff in the bottom

A: It is to help keep the debris from getting into the fountain and clogging the pump.
